I am curious as to how the Bayliss family was able to find the bicycle at 4:45 AM before the police were able to and how they knew to look at Battery East.
I really hope that everything is okay...

As for those curious folks - I'm friends of the family and there's no way anything untoward is going on here but let's get Alison home first and figure out the details later.

The fact is Danville to Battery East at 4am is a 15-20 minute drive for a motivated Dad. Even if Danville PD was notified promptly about the note and passed that info to SFPD & etc., response times for SFPD and the other agencies is such that Dad will easily beat the other responders to the scene.

This is entirely hearsay... however this is what I heard and will pass along... I also heard that the SRV High School had a school wide assembly last week that featured a bi-polar survivor of a Golden Gate Bridge suicide attempt, who proceeded to tell the students about websites geared to how to commit suicide. Apparantly there were similarities related to the bike being parked on the east side of the bridge. If there is truth to the assembly that discussed suicide, perhaps what a person says should be screened.

Concerned Neighbor thanks for the info but OMG if this is the case and God forbid Allison's case turns tragic SRV should be held liable for this. What in the world do you need to talk to kids about suicide off the Golden Gate Bridge so late in the year but with such details giving student info on the websites out there that help in this.

We will cling onto hope that Allison is brought home safely. But SRV you need to look at what the hell you are teaching these kids, my gosh!

To any students out there who are depressed, feel there is a dark cloud over the heads, and there is no hope, please, talk to someone, a counselor, a priest, a friend, a coach, as things will and do get better. God bless you.

We love this family very much. We will all continue to pray for the Bayliss family and hope for Allison's return. But whatever happens we know that God is aware of them and their heartache. **Please readers be careful of what you write - this is a wonderful, grieving family. They need all our support.

So sorry for the family and the pain their daughter must have been in. you always hope that maybe she changed her mind and may be found somewhere!

It is important to be considerate during this delicate time, for all involved. Speculation as to why, who is responsible, etc., is counter-productive and unnecessary gossip. My hope is that someone has notified the Contra Costa Crisis Center. They are the most experienced in our County for crisis, particularly in matters involving depression, suicide, and family support. They also have a 24/7 crisis line for anyone in need of emotional support. 800-SUICIDE is the number.

Please do not blame SRV for this tragedy. The point of the assembly was to point out that survivors always regret jumping the minute they jump (you can assume the non survivors regret it also) and there are other options out there. It wasn't a " how to" on committing suicide. I heard it was a very moving and meaningful talk.

What is doubly sad about these situations is the failure to notice and intervene with teenage depression. The likelihood of no one noticing her change in mood is remote. If you notice a child/teen/adult that has a change in mood and seems preoccupied ask them about what is going on and tell someone else about it as well. Having known someone is depressed and even suicidal and done nothing is a horrible cross to bear.

Bill, do not be so sure about "not noticing her change in mood!" Unless you are an expert on teen depression or suicide. You have basically placed the blame on her parents and her close friends by saying that. People are incredibly savvy at hiding emotions and keeping the status quo, even when they are desperate. So PLEASE do not judge. It is cruel to the family and friends who love this girl.

My heart breaks for this family, and I am so moved by the unbelievable response of this community to rally around the effort to find this wonderful girl. I woke 2 days ago to find numerous emails from various organizations (friends, NCL, businesses), all getting the message out to do whatever we can to locate her. God bless you all, and I pray that this ends in a successful effort to find her safely and bring her home.

And to the security guard outside of the Bank of America in Alamo and to the woman who was speaking to him Tuesday late a.m. (and she is a Eucharistic Minister at St. Isidore Church EVERY week) and who were both speaking in a very loud tone so that all of us around you could overhear (including my teenage son sitting in the car directly next to you), your words and phrases after looking at posted flyers on the Bof A of Allison, and I quote - "these spoiled brats in Danville and Alamo," "probably off somewhere having a good time with her boyfriend," "they don't know how good they have it," - well, I find your words to be disgusting, hurtful, and ignorant to the utmost degree. Please keep your ridiculous opinions to yourself and be a little more mindful of those around you who are witnessing your moronic attitude. This is a time of coming together with our communities for a very serious cause - a young woman's life is at stake, her family and friends are hurting, and we all pray that she is found quickly. My son who is close to her age overheard you and was appalled as well. He could not understand how an adult (who he recognized from church also) would say such cruel things about this situation. When I see you passing out the Host on Sundays, I can only hope that God will soften both your hearts and open your minds to be less judgmental.

It is with great sadness that this was just released: SAN FRANCISCO -- A missing Danville teenager apparently jumped to her death off the Golden Gate Bridge, ending a desperate search that begun when she failed to return home from school, authorities said Wednesday. California Highway Patrol Capt. Amy Mangan said 15-year-old Allison "Alliy" Bayliss walked onto the bridge on Monday morning and “did not walk off.” “I can confirm that Allison walked on to the bridge at 10 a.m. and did not walk off,” Mangan said. “Our effort now is moving toward a possible suicide.”

Hiding facts and not talking about it is one reason people stay inward and fail to release their tensions, needs and wants.

I find it insensitive to read these postings. We are all praying for the safe return of Allison Bayliss but why even open up a portal to allow anything less than 100% positive?
