Enjoy the 146th annual Scottish Highland Gathering and Games

'Put on the plaid' at the 146th annual Scottish Highland Gathering and Games from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, and from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 4, at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $27 for an adult 2-day ticket or $20 for 1-day; $12 for seniors and youth ages 12-17; 11 years old and under and military are free. Visit [Web Link www.caledonian.org].

We attended the games Saturday. It was refreshing to not have to be scanned/bag checked for weapons. Perhaps this is the policy because so many MEN have daggers and swords anyway. Gang bangers outnumbered!? Lol! However a $20 per person gate charge with no weekend return allowed is too steep in this economy. Will skip it next year.
