Discovery Bay is "Local News"

Original post made by [removed], another community, on Nov 8, 2011

Dear Editor,

BANG's San Ramon Valley Times' Local News segment is now covering Discovery Bay's Community Service District Board of Directors actions. This coverage is logical as Blackhawk, Diablo and Tassajara Valley continue as part of District 3 under Mary Piepho. Mary and David Piepho have been dominant in creating DB-CSD district board actions and similar county agencies in Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley need to learn from the politics of Discovery Bay.

It would be newsworthy for the Express to cover county agencies in Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley so any actions to reconstitute those agencies by Mary and staff will be fully known to your readers. Using Discovery Bay as an example of such actions provides advanced warning to our local communities remaining in district 3.

Dear Editor,

The goal of this initial exchange posting is to gather opinions and responses from our region on the need for broader knowledge of issues in Contra Costa County that can be indicators of local actions by county officials and departments. As a capable editor, I suggest the Express wants to know what our region's neighbors want to know about overall government actions as similar results might impact our local communities.

The goal of the Town Square Forum, as I read your charter, is to engage the community of readers in the news process. Certainly we want respectful commentary but we do want the thoughts and concerns of all points of view. Am I correct in your view?

So how important in news of district 3 supervisor's action in Discovery Bay to the concerns of Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley neighborhoods?

All there is to learn from the politics of Discovery Bay is that those citizens who scream the loudest, bully, and micromanage their elected leaders are the most deceitful, rude, hateful, and disingenuous people in town.

I am a member of the Concerned Citizens coalition and the above poster was talking about riffraff like Don Flint, Mark Doran, Jeff Barber, Bill Richardson, Pat Richardson, Todd Scruggs, Wendi Rank, Eric Item, Mike Witkoski, Carol Jackson, Tom Alarcon, and all the other wastes of organic material that makes up the embarrassment squad of Discovery Bay.

I know many of the people that Steve B mentions and have found them to be community members who care a great deal about Discovery Bay and rarely (if ever) resort to libelous name calling as this gentlemen has done.

I don't know if Discovery Bay has anything to be embarrassed about. The Discovery Bay Community Services District (DB-CSD), on the other hand, has had its share of issues.

[Portion of post removed due to possible unsubstantiated comments]

And the Discovery Bay CSD should be embarrassed about being involved in the inappropriate diversion of Keller Canyon Landfill Mitigation Funds to Discovery Bay to pay for a political fundraiser (zip code party) for Mary Piepho. Web Link

The DB-CSD should also embarrassed by Piepho appointed DB-CSD Vice President Brian Dawson, who was arrested and is currently out on bail for criminal child endangerment and spousal abuse. He refuses to resign despite calls by the community, local media and fellow board members.
Web Link

More recently the Discovery Bay CSD was embarrassed about being caught giving medical coverage to CSD directors in contradiction to the information provided to the public by General Manager Rick Howard. Web Link

My point in bringing up these issues that community members have raised as concerns is that there is a civil way of bringing issues, concerns and opinions forward. [Portion of post removed due to possible unsubstantiated comments]

Does Steve B. holds the community members he defames in his post responsible for these DB-CSD embarrassments?

I think he is out on his own if he does. But a little disagreement is fine and even essential to challenge a thriving culture. Disagreeing with Mr. B is made even easier by reading his comments and taking note of his defamatory and angry tone that is devoid of any facts.

Mary Piepho is entering campaign mode and in my experience that means her followers (appointees) will lash out against any member of the public who dares express concerns.

Fortunately the public understands that these attacks against concerned citizens are based on allegiance to Mary Piepho and in the long run the attacks will not prove helpful to her re-election effort.

One would think that what happens in other small communities can also happen in ours. The fact that Supervisor Piepho & her husband started this whole disgraceful ordeal with the Community of Discovery Bay is unsettling. [Portion of post removed due to possible unsubstantiated comments] The Supervisors featherbrained actions to insist this unquailfied individual should be placed on a CSD board should be a good lesson to our own community. We should beware of her wreckless behavior with regard to our own community.

Mary Piepho has shown many reasons for voters to unseat her as soon as possible.

NO MORE SELFSERVING SPECIAL INTREST UNETHICAL MARY PIEPHO. SHE IS BAD FOR CONTRA COSTA COUNTY. SHE MUST BE REMOVED.

After reading some of the comments it sounds like Mary and David have their snope hounds out trying to discredit anyone that supplies the actual facts that are evidently negative about the Piepho duo. Many individuals have told me that is how they work and now I am starting to see it and believe it. Many tell me there is a guy with a scarey face that zooms all over the Internet and tries to shield them (Piepho's) from all the blog sites that say bad things about them. Good luck with that. I hope he does not move to Danville we have enough scarey stuff here.

Dear Editor,

As BANG continues to develop Discovery Bay stories and editorials for the SRV Times and you consider such content for your readers in Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley (district 3 local region)you will receive more discovery of political actions by Delta region neighborhoods. Such references are provided in this exchange to illustrate actions by Mary and David Piepho and more are to come from the Diablo Vista region neighborhoods concerning seven years of such actions in the Alamo region.

You have the advantage of knowing the contact information for Mary's supporters, as concerned citizens coalition and informed resident(s) e-exchange, to be basis of your stories on how such political attacks and attempts at suppression of public concern are constructed. Your journalism can discover how these small factions are linked with Mary's aggregated campaigns to control news distribution and voters' knowledge of district 3 seedy politics.

In this attack campaign by Piepho factions, there is specific effort to suppress your Town Square Forum commentators from participating in the news process. It would seem that your journalism has been challenged by such cyber-bullying and a home page story is in the making.

Portions of several posts have been removed due to comments the Express can not substantiate at this time. We will continue to look into allegations at a later date.

Dear Editor,

The original post by Don Flint, including his references, has been confirmed by news service researchers as accurate is specifying actions by Mary and David Piepho in authorship of actions by their surrogates on the Discovery Bay CSD Board. Your removal of such information with claims that they are unsubstantiated allegations is an error in journalism because such validation was immediately available if EMCEB had actually researched such references.

It is important that your readers in Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley receive your best journalistic efforts to provide fair, full and balanced support of readers that wish to accurately participate in the news process as the intention of the Town Square Forum. Mary Piepho's actions in Discovery Bay combined with her abuse of Alamo illustrate an expected disregard coming for Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley neighborhoods, community groups and existing advisory agencies.

Since you have decided to edit commentary accurately posted, it falls to you to do immediate and full reporting of the linkages of the Piepho's to undisciplined actions by DB-CSD in disservice to Discovery Bay residents and neighbors. With that information and illustration of political tactics, Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara neighborhoods can prepare opposition to similar political abuse in their region.

Simply editing accuracy is not journalism.

Yet another conspiracy theory offered by Hal Bailey in a vain attempt to channel his own frustrations. It only took me a few clicks of the mouse to find out that Mr. Flint's postings were false.

The fact that Mr. Bailey is doing his best to support false allegations in his own personal effort, should come as no surprise.

Dear Editor,

As you development your story on political actions in District 3, you will want to review the resources provide by BANG research that is background to the articles and other references used by Don Flint. For any commentator to claim that such BANG references and background research is false without providing the specific sources as proof to you and your readers simply gives you sufficient cause to publish your story of such politics. We can be assured that District 2 and 3 supervisor campaigns are going to be a repeat of the swift boating that occurred on Danville Weekly Forum in 2008 Piepho Campaign and this time voters are far to wise to be mislead by such vacant defamation.

It takes very little research to find that all of Mr. Flints accusations are distorted into complete fabrications. Mr. Flint takes the most harmless of facts and enjoys twisting them to suit his current witch hunt. Other local publications have removed his posts as lacking merit. Most likely this is the reason he is trolling in another community such as here on the Danville Express. Mr. Flint has a well known history of throwing fits and whining about his conspiracy theories to anyone that will listen, just listen to the audio of any DBCSD meeting. Any small amount of research will quickly yield the fact that Mr. Flint simply makes things up to suit his own attempts at defamation. He lacks credibility and is very transparent in all of his actions.

Hal shares the same DNA with the small group of political saboteurs in Discovery Bay. His posting(s) inclusive of Discovery Bay, Bill Richardson and Don Flint clarifies his direct contact & connection with them. If he has 'researched' the warped opinions of Don Flint for validity, why hasn't he posted them instead of innuendo? He hasn't because they could never be substantiated. They don't exist and have been dismissed long ago. Mr. Flint has nothing to offer except recycled failed efforts that he continues to embellish.

Dear Editor,

Please research the Concerned Citizens Coalition in Discovery Bay and their website defending DB-CSD Vice President from recall by Discovery Bay neighborhoods. You will find it is five primary people with connections to Mary and David Piepho that provide public commentary to defame the news service research provided by Don Flint and others in this exchange. The key is to focus on the source of the news service research and not simply sponsor defamation of Don Flint for providing the references. Then look at the dialog that is part of county communication and related e-mails that is part of news service distribution in our region. The website, e-mails and other documentation contain the same third party commentary illustrating Mary is the primary source of such misleading commentary.

It certainly is much like the 2008 campaign when "swift-boating" was the basis of the Piepho campaign and any factual presentation was absent. For that reference you only have to look in the archives of the Town Square Forum.

Hal [clarify],

Once again a little research shows that what you continue to assume and defend are twisted opinions that do not hold up against facts. I imagine quiet a few people in Discovery Bay are aligned with the Piephos. They don't win elections by being unpopular. One might wonder, what is your real interest in that community. Your ties to Bill Richardson and Don Flint? You are right, the archives can be very revealing.

Dear Editor,

BANG reported Discovery Bay political activity in the SRV Times because of the examples that could impact Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley. Understanding the history of political actions by Mary and David Piepho could provide Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley neighborhoods a preview of how politics will be carried out in their communities.

It was that story recommended for your review and development in service to your readers. There is substantial news service research into Discovery Bay politics and the roles of Mary and David Piepho readily available for your acquisition and employment in your story. There is related polling that illustrates how DB neighborhoods feel about politics in their community.

The story is researched, validated and available for you to tell.

Hal,

BANG is reporting on all regions in the county. It has to do with the paper's consolidation and nothing to do with your conspiracy theory.

There is plenty of information in the form of official record, fact, (and yes research)that invalidates Mr. Flint's constant attempts at defamation. Look it up, that is what I did. I keep finding it with little effort. This is why the press could not possibly validate any of his statements, nor yours. It only takes a little research to separate Mr. Flint's posting from the facts. Why don't you look into that? I'm guessing you won't as it does not fit your agenda. From what I have been able to gather it is pretty clear that the only bad politics are those brought on by Mr. Flint, Richardson and a small group of antagonists over there. They have quite a history and can be found all over the internet.

Hal, what politics are you referring to and where is the fact, article or research to back it up? We are waiting...
