  1. Steve,

    Warrantless wiretaps continue

    Guantanamo not shut down

Voted to allow indefinite detainment of U.S. citizens without trial

    No leadership on climate change

    Solyndra

    Runaway pentagon spending

Bank bailouts, yet not a single banker charged in the financial meltdown

Overruled the EPA to raise ozone levels to 0.075 ppm (higher than Bush) which should result in 12,000 additional U.S. deaths annually

Undermined the solvency of Social Security Trust Fund by passing payroll tax cuts

Heath care reform that grants yet another costly entitlement but does nothing to reduce health care costs and is opposed by 60% of Americans

Extended the Bush tax cuts for the richest 0.01% of Americans

Rejected his own bi-partisan budget committee recommendations to restore fiscal sanity and offered no plan of his own

More than twice the number of immigrant deportations as Bush

Umm….yeah, what’s not to like about Obama?

  2. What’s not to like about Obama?….. EVERYTHING!!!! The man is a socialist/communist who is taking our freedoms! He has outspent every president before him! Nothing he has done has been good for our country but everything he has done has been BAD for our country! He will stop at nothing until our once wonderful country has been destroyed! Another term with Obama mean the total destruction of this great country!

  3. Dear Editor,

One would think that the only event of 2012 will be hatred and prejudice against any number of politicians and other individuals. One would think that various “network political acts” are the only content of our local, state, national and global thinking.

    One would think, right?

In humor, I have read various polling and focus group results on local residents’ ambitions for 2012 and enjoyed the reality that most participants didn’t rely on politics to deliver expectations for 2012. Majority of response was positive for our economy and it is viewed as “righting the ship” despite the gridlock of politics. Few see politicians having positive impact on our economy, community and humanity and most improvements coming directly from the people of the United States and our global partners.

Politics is seen as coincidental to results we will see in 2012.

Getting back to Stan’s question, it would be enjoyable to hear what is expected locally in 2012 and how our communities might change through our own actions as residents. It would be interesting to hear about plans by various groups that will provide impact in 2012. It would be very interesting to hear what your readers think will be very unimportant in 2012?

Local polling, in review, does not see politicians as much importance in our communities and most participants see further emergence of residents as the power and “engine” of our east bay region.

    Food for thought?

    Ralph, with a thoughtful smile

Your lack of an argument or factual support is inspiring! The very essence of what Internet discussion is all about!

  5. Please do not regurgitate Faux news … which president had to deal with economic contraction not seen since the great depression.

Obama did the best he could by rescuing the auto industry, ending Iraq war, stabilizing banks, extending unemployment benefits, fix healthcare, etc.

No one has the silver bullet … but I trust him more than anyone from the other side.
