And of course he is on paid leave and still getting a check because the school district can't fire him immediately. Thank you Governor Brown for being in the Teacher Union's pockets.

Such a sad sad story. I knew this young man and never did I think he would make a choice like this. I hope he gets the help he needs along with those involved. I feel so bad for his parents and the parents of those whom he harmed. This will be a long drawn out nightmare for all. You just never know.

Wow. Affirmation it can and does happen EVERYWHERE in this world. Very sad and were I the parent of a young person attending Cal High and in contact with this person? I'd be mighty upset. We certainly had our share of concerns when our son attended with some VERY UNCOOL young assistant coaches, so I guess? It was just a matter of time here...

Why aren't our churches and schools protecting our children? What an awful thing for them to hear about, and the poor victims! We have to raise our kids to not trust adults, because, well they can't. Either at church or at school, why does this keep happening??

It's a real problem trying to stay on top of these sick people. We know they try to get involved in our Scout troops; we had a very charming piano teacher; that taught out of his home; my son didn't want to go anymore and the next year, his name was in the paper; as a arrested pedophile and what better; for them, than getting into the midst of sports of young boys and being in the locker rooms and showers right with them. We have to be more aware and careful for our kids; as they aren't aware that these seemingly very loving, kind people, can be very dangerous for them. Such sad situations always.

Ourre, earlier articles state that he is not a teacher in the district, and he is not getting paid while in custody.

Both of my nephews went to California High. They are going to be very surprised to learn about this. They are grown up now, with kids of their own.

As an earlier commenter said, It CAN happen even here in the "Bubble"!

"All that is needed for the forces of evil to triumph is for good men and women to do nothing" Edmund Burke.

Thank you to the victims and their families for coming forward to stop this behavior from hurting others. You, along with law enforcement are the true heroes in our community.

Does anyone know what the school district's policy is for coaches? I would hope there is a policy requiring two adult coaches be present at any coaching event taking place at the schools. Over the years, there have been various rumors of a particular PE teacher at this same school who has been questioned about inappropriate behavior. Last time I checked, he was still there.
