It sounds like this boy is experiencing pain and pressure that is common to so many youngsters in this area. Hopefully his parents will find him the help he needs to get through his rough times, as running away is not a solution and not a safe choice. Discovery Counseling Center in Danville works in the schools and also offers affordable and effective health care to those in need. Too many parents dismiss little kids' problems.

I agree with Resident. The Discovery Program outreach program is in the elementary schools, and I hope, middle schools. It is a fine resource, and there are also many qualified mental helath professionals who work with kids in the area as well. If he is not already receiving needed services, I hope his parents (or a parent) will advocate for this boy so his needs are met.
