Now a school district gets to decide which laws they are going to follow? Crazy! A school district should know that we are a nation of laws, and should be teaching our children the importance of being a nation of laws. You do not get the right to unilaterally decide if you are going to follow the law. That is called anarchy. Pleasanton, where Kate Steimle is from who was killed by an illegal alien who had been convicted of numerous crimes, should realize how inappropriate this resolution truly is.

Will someone wake me up when ICE starts raiding schools and hauling students away? Since that isn't going to happen, this is just another "feel good" resolution with no real effect, other than sending the message to students that they should feel free to disobey any laws (or school rules, for that matter) that they disagree with).

Somehow, I get the feeling that the school district will not be as understanding if students decide that they are opposed to various school rules, and engage in "civil disobedience" against those rules....

Now, if the district is concerned about having any illegal immigrants on staff, that raises other questions. Still, any illegal immigrants who might be working for the district are unlikely to have any issues, unless they have committed other crimes.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
