I know many will not understand this common, but since our schools have become so PC, we've had more problems. Constantly telling children that they should be tattletales and only their opinions matter, create this mess we are having in our very entitled school district. Kids feel emboldened and do not respect others nor discipline. We need to go back to old fashion conservative values where we teach the golden rule and not to make a big issue out of other people's problems. I am not saying that every issue brought up to our SRVUSD is not important, what I'm saying is when opinions spread on social media they make it bigger than what it is and divides our precious little town.

I believe much of the lack of judgement shown by these teens recently is a direct reflection of what they see in the culture.
People are committing suicide live on Facebook. A San Jose State student faked her own kidnapping over the weekend. Celebrities use vulgar and vile language at political rallies. A comedian is shown holding up a mock severed head of the US president. I fear we are reaping what we have sown.
No matter your political preference, faith or heritage, a return to common decency and dignity is clearly needed in this area and this country.

"Constantly telling children that they should be tattletales and only their opinions matter, create this mess we are having in our very entitled school district."

I have no idea what this means. You through a bunch of words together and blame all of societies problems on random things with no proof, evidence or even anecdotal descriptions.

I guess maybe you are suggesting that all students ignore what is going on around them. When injustices are done they are suppose to ignore it and not be "tattletales". So if somebody murders the rest of your family and somebody witnesses it, I guess you don't want them to be "tattletales" and tell the police what they saw.

Dear Marie-
You may not be aware of current events at SR Valley High, but one incident involves the distribution of child pornography by a female student. There is very little doubt this is one of the two cases being discussed. And my guess is the meeting has to do with said school board members covering their behinds from a profoundly bad decision they made regarding this incident.

Derek: Are you referring to the case where a female student took a video of another female student in the bathroom as child pornograghy?

LlCoolL: All of my children have gone through this district, and luckily we are almost done. I work very closely with the schools and am a very involved parent. I see, starting in elementary, that children are taught to tattletale on the littlest trivial things, parents tell their children they are perfect and entitled, and kids are allowed to listen and watch music/movies/TV shows/video games that are very violent and sexual. Many children have no respect nor discipline. Of course I am not saying if you see a crime not to call the police, that comment was just ridiculous!

Again, I am not saying that these cases are all innocent, what I am saying is social media and news media exaggerates the truth to divide our community, and that we can prevent some of these issues by going back to conservative values.
