Over 1,700 people came out last weekend for San Ramon’s Culture in the Community celebration to enjoy food, fashion, music and performances from cultures around the world.

The event on Sunday was held in partnership with San Ramon 150, a group that has organized festivities all year long to mark the sesquicentennial anniversary of the city’s existence.

At the celebration, attendees could visit booths representing 26 different world cultures, children’s activities, prizes, a chalk art showcase, a cricket demonstration and on-site food trucks.

Taking center stage, the event also showcased music and dance performances from around the world, including Dougherty Valley Bhangra dancers, McGrath Irish dancers, Motu’aina Hula Polynesian dancers and more.

The festival was free and took place from 12-5 p.m. at the San Ramon Community Center at Central Park. This was the first year it was held.
