College freshman from Danville dies after soccer ball to head triggers brain injury

A young woman who graduated from San Ramon Valley High last spring died on Saturday, three weeks after a soccer ball struck her in the head during a college retreat and ultimately triggered a severe brain injury.

Allie’s father, Bill Brodie also lives in Danville. Moving forward., a scholarship fund has been set up in Allie’s honor at the University of Alabama, The Allie Brodie Legacy Memorial Scholarship.

I am so sorry for the loss of this young woman that had so much ahead of her. Prayers to this family and to all impacted. I will pray for her tonight.
