A skatepark next to an elementary school? Lacks common sense no? Do you want to see ugly concrete or a pretty fountain/grass when you drive by sycamore valley park every day? The fountain is very popular for kids and teens for prom and family pics! Btw Spohn is an Alabama company looking to make money in Danville. This “by and large” quote is a blatant lie! The park and Rec commission meeting had a huge turnout of concerned parents loudly protesting the Sycamore location. Wait till the full PTA shows up!

Good morning!

I just want to take a moment to remind everyone that the Village Theatre Parking Project is underway, which means that parking along Front Street for tonight's Council meeting will be in short supply. If you plan on attending the meeting, please allow yourselves some extra time to park.

A skatepark is a very bad idea for such a beautiful and tranquil place like Sycamore Valley Park. Danville Police will always be busy with a new Danville "hot spot" as well as ambulance services. Plus increased traffic and noise - home values in the Meadowcreek community across the street will be negatively affected.
