Cal High alum, daughter of school board president dies in car crash

Madeline "Maddie" Hurd, a 2015 California High School graduate and the daughter of San Ramon Valley Unified School District Board of Education President Rachel Hurd, was in her senior year working toward a bachelor's degree in recreation at Western Washington University. She was 21 years old.

Rachel, my deepest condolences to your family. I’m at a loss for words but I am grieving for your beautiful daughter. I am so saddened by her life being cut short. I will keep your family in my prayers.
