Guest Opinion: Concussions and youth

Whether it occurs when a child falls on the playground unexpectedly or when the ball hits a player's head, the injury can be significant. Unlike medical professionals, athletic trainers and parents are really the first responders.

Another reason to fund a full time school nurse at every school in SRVUSD!

I hope the parents of Nate Rutchena understand that Monte Vista High is not looking out for their son when he plays both offense and defense. Leaving a game on Oct. 26,2018 in ambulance. With another concussion in 2nd half of game last night. I hope they realize the damage this young man suffers will be with him the rest of his life. On Oct 26,2018 Nate was on his back for over 20 minutes before leaving in the ambulance. This is Nate's 2nd season that ended with a concussion.
