Is "Die Hard" a Christmas movie? The terrorist strike does take place at an office Christmas party. And the final scene when the cop comes face to face with the hero could be called warm and fuzzy. Try debating that at dinner!

"Love Actually" is our family fave, watch it Every year. Great weaving of tales into one, fabulous ensemble cast, completely charming performances!

A modern classic and a steal at #51.

Sorry - I should add that 'Love Actually' is not a kiddieflick - there are a few stray boobs in evidence, as well as significant sexual innuendo/adult themes. That said, the only death (and non-violent, to boot) occurs before the movie starts.

So, don't get me started on whether that makes it less appropriate family fare than the gruesome Die Hard.

How about "Patton"? Definitely one of the best movies ever made, and the Battle of the Bulge, which the entire movie builds up to, takes place from mid-December onward, with the relief of Bastogne kicking into high gear on Christmas Day.
