Thank you, Danville PD, for doing a great job in protecting our town!

It is also important to remember that the police can not do their job without the strong support and partnership with us residents. Unlike so many other cities in the bay area, most Danville citizens support the police, and put safety over the alleged rights of criminals. We are not Monday morning quarterbacks, second guessing the actions of the police who have to make instant life and death decisions that involve force. We do not believe in "institutional racism" of the police department, and believe our brave officers make decisions based on safety and not skin color. Of course, they are not perfect, and some mistakes will be made, just like any other profession. But unlike other professions, the police leave their homes each day not knowing if they will ever come home safely. Moreover, if us citizens see something suspicious or does not look right in our neighborhood, we will call the police and report it, not worrying about being labeled a "racist". We look out for each other, for law abiding citizens, and cooperate with the police, who are our friends, not our enemies.

This is why Danville is the safest town. Simple but true, and sad that other politically correct liberal cities can not do what we do to keep law abiding citizens safe.

Safe cities are because of the citizens not the police. A violent act is not prevented by police they only respond to the crime. Danville police responses to crime in progress shows a history of bad decisions. With car chases ending in crashes or even death. Bored police can be dangerous.

Mark,
I agree. A 10 year veteran officer in Danville has attained the equivalent experience as an Oakland PD rookie after his 1st day in the field. But I like living in Mayberry were all we need is deputy Barney Fife.
