Letter: Bright orange skies are not normal

Original post made by Online Editor, another community, on Nov 2, 2020

Corporations have their hands in the pockets of government, from city council, county judges, to the President. These corporations do not give a single damn about the wellbeing of planet Earth, they only care about profit. The facts is our planet is dying, and the people are getting pissed! Analyzing our flaws will only lead us to innovation. And I do not mean to stress you with deadlines, but the issues we are facing require active participation in community organizing. And fast!

My name is Sameera Rajwade and at 21 years old I am running to be your San Ramon city councilperson.

Not only am I young for someone running for an elected government position, I am also gender queer and brown living in Trump’s America. My existence is meant to be suppressed in a society that is racially divided and dictated by the patriarchy and gender binary norms. However, these boundaries sparked a passion in me to break them. I believe in the phrase “rules are meant to be broken” especially when the rules are made by a system that is outdated with the times. There is not just one answer to how our system got like this, but what I can provide is alternative solutions. If I’m being honest, we don’t have much time.

My opposition is decades older than I am, with professional academic resumes that outshine mine. As a college dropout, journalist/artist my eccentric identity and politics threatens their agenda. And I hope you can see why this is exactly my goal. I am challenging the very system that dares to dictate us, will you join me?

Candidate for San Ramon City Council District 3

Our Planet is not "Dying" and Corporations and everyone else cares about the "wellbeing of planet Earth" because without it there would be no Profit (Monetary or otherwise). I hope you know that real science is never"Settled" if it was then Einstein would never have had his theory of Special Relativity accepted, because the vast majority of Scientists did not agree with him. There are many instances in history of this. So in closing I want to reiterate that in Real Science, the majority does not rule, Real data and results do even if only promulgated by one that sees through the fog to the light.
