Danville downtown is not very "historic" aside from a few buildings that have been converted into businesses. As always lack of parking and the poor condition of sections of sidewalks are the big negatives.
Thankfully the new Clock Tower construction finally deals with pedestrian safety that always was an issue with vehicle traffic crossing the sidewalk.
Another positive is that Danville does host events for Independence Day and Christmas plus car shows and some downtown events.
Just my viewpoint as a long time resident.
