COVID surge's impact on schools

A new variant of COVID, omicron, made the first week of school following the winter break more than a little challenging.

As an aside, someone should ask the county health department about the recent county-wide caseload data: Starting on 1/4/22 with 795 new cases, following with daily data as follows: 1,047; 1,650; 2,223; 2,547; 2,946; 3,222; 1955; 2,517; 2,272; 3132; 2,830; 3,357; 2,578; 1,714; 1,648; 1,955; and yesterday 74. With no explanation as to the reasons for the drastic drop in new cases.
