As of 06-12-18, SRVUSD’s 2022-2023 enrollment projection was 36,635. By 06-15-21, it was down to 29,289.

Parents with sufficient means should continue fleeing the District and its two “EQUITY” propaganda programs: (a) “anti-racism” and (b) “LGBTQ+” indoctrination.

The alleged “anti-racism” curriculum is itself overtly, hatefully racist, as illustrated by two adopted textbooks:

“This Book Is Anti-Racist” is in fact a caricature of anti-racism. It capitalizes all races but white, and says that “Being racist against white people is not a thing.” So it’s OK, says the author, to “have prejudice against white people….”

Another book, "Stamped: Racism, Anti-Racism, and You," urges 7th graders to “check out” murder and rape-celebrating “gangsta rap” as a source of “change and empowerment.”

And the “LGBTQ+” promoters? National news recently exposed two SRVUSD teachers as seeking to prevent parental knowledge of 4th and 5th graders' involvement in lunchtime meetings of “LGBTQ+” clubs (called "PRISM" clubs).

I’ve learned also that an SRVUSD elementary principal and a teacher trainer presented a session at the left-wing “National Council of Teachers of English” 2020 convention, entitled “Affirming LGBTQ+ Identities in the Elementary Grades.” They said they’d “describe their experiences of queering the classroom.”

Formalizing of aggressive LGBTQ activism began here in 2003. The “Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network” reported having worked for two years “behind the scenes” with SRV school administrators to enable “Gay-Straight Alliances,” now generally called “Gender-Sexuality Alliances.”

Volunteer SRVUSD teachers now administer so-called “Gender-Support Plans” in each school, using assessment forms from the third-party gender-bender activist outfit called “Gender Spectrum.” I consider that to be unlicensed, amateur psychotherapy.

Talk about grasping at straws... declining enrollment has nothing to do with what the previous poster seems to be fixated on. And a simple Google search will show you that NCTE is a national professional organization for teachers of English. The same sort of organization exists for all subjects, from math to science to social studies. Labeling it a "left-wing organization" is completely misleading.

CK,

7,000 students are GONE! Either a) the population unexpectedly left, or, b) SRVUSD projections absolutely wrong. Which is it? The answer is a) and if you ask these parents of 7,000 kids, the main reason is the perception of over-politicized education. The dismissing of this reality is not helpful. What reason do you have for 7,000 kids leaving the school district and where exactly do you think they went?
