Excellent article re catalytic converter theft! Thanks for the detailed information.
I'm glad to see the legislation that has passed!

Shame on the Car Manufacturers for not doing more to tackle this problem directly from their end with both old and new cars. (Marking inside and outside of CATs. Helping to control the buying and selling of CATs from their locations.)

Shame on the car lobbyist organizations for being evasive and unhelpful. (They could have helped so much and with little time and cost. And they had an easy escape hatch to avoid the really expensive markings in the wording "readily accessible." Those cars aren't having their CATs stolen anyway.)

Shame on the Politicians (and DAs and Police) for not doing more and sooner to prioritize this plague of local attacks on the citizenry. "Crime" on citizens should always be government's highest priority.

Shame on the Criminals. (Yeah, I know. They don't care about what I would have to say to them. They don't have any shame anyway. We're just "marks" to be taken advantage of.) But they are parasites upon decent people.....and it's having a lasting effect upon our mind-set. People are losing more of the feeling of "peace & safety" in their own homes. And more people are now becoming less "sympathetic" towards criminals (even ones we know) and becoming "tough on crime" as voters. Get ready for the "shift" back to Law and Order.
