This is one of the stupidest things I have ever read. What other local school district has built housing dormitories for teachers and staff? I can't think of any. How many California Distinguished Schools did PUSD have this year? Zero. Unlike Dublin and San Ramon - both of which spend more time on looking at educating and supporting staff rather than this delusion.

Maybe Balch should be asking why other school local districts are succeeding where his is failing. I'm sure part of the reason is the other district aren't wasting their time making politically convenient excuses for failure.

It is the responsibility and obligation of a community to provide or offer affordable housing options for its public school teachers.

Either that, or find other teachers willing to commute from far away places

Ron Bevaqua you are wrong. It’s absolutely not the responsibility of these locations to house these people. How many Oakland or Peninsula teachers and firefighters live in the trivalley by choice? Many. How many successful trivalley schools have built housing dormitories for teachers and staff? Zero.

Hijacking education to meet political demands of progressive extremism doesn’t work. Stop predicating successful education on the enactment of outlandish progressive demands.
