Walnut Creek: La Russa family, ARF sever ties; family retracts consent for use of its names and likenesses

Hall of Fame baseball manager Tony La Russa and his family have severed ties with the Walnut Creek-based animal rescue nonprofit the family founded some 30 years ago.

This is a PR mistake. Having the La Russa family with all their fundraising is invaluable. It won’t happen immediately but over time when Tony and other celebrities he brings into fundraisers stop coming their donations will drop off.

Taking a line from Pretty Woman; “mistake, big mistake.”

Very sad. ARF won't be the same without the LaRussa family. We were at the A's game when Evie made her debut.
