Should the accused be found guilty of the charge of rape, he should spend the rest of his life in prison.

Rapists and pedophiles are repeat offenders. They are wired differently than normal people. Every person convicted of molesting a child or rape of another human being, should spend the rest of his or her life behind bars.

^ Chemical castration should also be a consideration.

If the accused is sentenced to life in prison, is chemical castration necessary?

Prisons are separated by gender and children are not incarcerated there.

On the other hand, upon release (if ever) a pharmaceutical deterrent may be in order to protect society.

As time goes on, the 'cruel and unusual punishment' statute in the U.S. Constitution will be further challenged by progressives and liberals.

We have already seen this with the CA death penalty and arrests for vagrancy in San Francisco are no longer enforced because the punishment (incarceration) does not fit the crime of being homeless.
