Where is the list of MAC candidates?

Original post made by Hal Bailey, Alamo, on Aug 25, 2009

Dear Dolores,

Neighborhoods have given ample notice to the county that the majority of 94507 voters want a list of applicants posted for MAC prospective members. This is public information and neighbors expect you to satisfy this requirement.

May we have your cooperation and reasonable updates leading to Mary's decisions?

I will acknowledge that I am an applicant,

Hal Bailey

The option would be for neighborhoods to publish the list

Dear Dolores,

**In response to neighbors' questions, "What are the chances district 3 will release a list of MAC applicants?"

It is not the customary practice of district 3 to operate with open transparency for their actions. Any release of a list of applicants for the MAC would limit district 3’s ability to spin their choice of applicants to be nominated for CCC-BOS appointment. Certainly we all understand that district 3 did not want our vote on a MAC and will not want our commentary on which applicants we might prefer as MAC members.

The goal for district 3 is becoming more obvious as they engineer silence among MAC supporters. District 3 only wishes to work with seven volunteer staff members, as MAC members, that will substantiate the supervisor’s policies, positions, projects and planning in 94507. Such volunteer staff is to be gatekeepers for community concerns and issues and keep all direct contact away from the supervisor.

Looking at the failure of R-7A, Z-36 and Alamo Community Council to create any community connection will fully illustrate how the MAC will work under district 3 volunteer staff operations. It will fail our community immediately and yet fulfill all expectations by district 3. Thus, nothing has changed from the consolidation of these previous county advisory committees into a MAC that is not a MAC by State legislative statutes' definition.

Hal
