2012 Recall efforts have begun

Original post made by [removed], another community, on Oct 13, 2011

Dear Editor,

Discovery Bay neighborhoods have approval to proceed with their RECALL petition for Brian Dawson, Discovery Bay CSD Vice President. This first recall effort is a model for recalls planned in Contra Costa County by various neighborhood forums to bring governments back into service to the will and interests of residents.

Regional neighborhoods in and around Danville are using the DB Recall process to plan local efforts to allow voters to choose a new Town Council specifically focused on citizens' will and interests. Such efforts are part of a campaign to reduce political independence of elected officials from the regional residents. Part of that campaign will continue efforts to remove Mary Piepho from office and prevent Tomi van de Brooke, as Mary's close ally, from becoming District 2 Supervisor.

A story is now emerging for your reporting.

Dear Editor,

Your sponsorship of defamation by the bluejays has been filed as libel with appropriate government authorities imposing definition of limits on freedom of the press. This exchange should not be defined by such libel and should provoke you to converage of the rights of recall by Contra Costans when governments fail to serve.

Dear Editor,

Let us connect the political interests among neighborhoods in our corridor and east county to improve government communications and consideration through various campaign efforts. Clearly, our region is linked to east county via Diablo and Blackhawk remaining in District 3. Diablo and Blackhawk, without voice via Mary and staff are impacted by Danville’s approval of the Magee and Weber Ranches development and the traffic generated on Diablo Road. Further, the diversion of traffic to the Green Valley/Stone Valley corridor makes such failures of representation and illegitimate approvals political interests of our region’s neighborhoods. Certainly, it is your journalistic obligation to bring such interests among your readership to features on your homepage.

There are goals among neighborhoods in our region, 1) protect Diablo and Blackhawk from political reconstitution by Mary Piepho’s seedy politics, 2) protect Alamo and Danville neighborhoods from selfish decisions by the current Danville town council, 3) protect District 2 from the seedy politics of Tomi van de Brooke and the machine politics that are supporting her bid for supervisor, and 4) support neighborhoods forums in east county that must resolve political issues in their communities and overall district.

Certainly those are rational efforts and newsworthy

Dear Editor,

Regional counsel has confirmation of EMCEB management and editors providing commentators’ names to political campaigns through groups in Danville. Was "Many of us" part of that disclosure? I am quite sure that the combined handful of supporters of the MAC and Danville Council would like regional neighborhoods to find something else to do rather than demand representation of their will and interests in interactive discussions, consideration and mitigations of issues.

Such nonsense on the Express Forum only creates a larger opposition to such politics and greater intentions for resolution among regional voters.

Ah, but perhaps you knew that?
