Obama's Re-Election Campaign Chair, Eva Longoria, is No "Philanthropist"

Original post made by Voter, Danville, on Feb 23, 2012

A Presidential candidate can tell you a lot about themselves by whom they select to their inner circle of advisors. President Obama selection of actress Eva Longoria to head his Re-election campaign again shows you that he is more about "style than substance".

Eva Longoria is an actress who plays an adulterous wife who slept with the high school student that cut her families grass, in "Desperate Housewifes". President Obama refers to her as as "Actress and Philanthropist" in his press release.

Eva Longoria recently filed bankruptcy to avoid paying her creditors and employees over her failed Las Vegas restaurant, "Beso". Funny, I fail to see how a grossly overpaid hollywood actress who filed bankruptcy and refused to pay her bus boys, waiters, dish washers, and vendors who supplied her with food and beverages, is a "philanthropist". She is another example of the misguided hollywood liberal wanta be politicians, who somehow think reading a script that others write for them makes them an expert on everything.

President Obama clearly only picked her because he thinks it will help him get the hispanic vote. This is an insult to hispanic voters everywhere. Does he really think they will vote for her simply because she is on television? How do you think the hispanic bus boys, dishwashers, and other employees who worked for this overpaid actress feel that they will not get paid for their work, because she "lawyered up" and filed bankruptcy?

She made over 15 million dollars last year alone, just for "Desperate Housewives", not including the millions she made doing commercials, and being paid spokepersons for numerous products. But instead of paying the minimum wage dishwasher what he earned, she filed bankruptcy.

President Obama's selection of her to head his re-election campagin is not surprising, since his entire liberal agenda is not about responosibility, and hard work, but rather is about style over substance, about attacking small businessmen who achiever success through hard work, but giving the true "1%", the Hollywood liberals, a free pass on his class warfare attacks.

When you vote in this next election, think about the hispanic dishwasher who got stiffed by this hollywood "philanthropist", and vote against the misguided liberal agenda of President Obama and his Hollywood advisors.

Voter -

Interesting views. But, when you post here, you really should get your facts straight.

First, Eva Longoria is not the "head" of President Obama's re-election campaign. She is one of 35 nominal Co-Chairs, which is more of an honorary position.

Second, Longoria did not file bankruptcy personally. The company that owns the restaurant, Beso, in which she is an investor, filed bankruptcy.

Third, the restaurant has continued to operate while in bankruptcy (likely paying its employees while it operates, unless you have facts to the contrary). It has now been purchased by Landry's, which will continue to operate it.

Fourth, according to news sources in Las Vega, where the restaurant is located, the restaurant is quite popular, generating more than $14 million in revenue annually, but was poorly managed. It's unlikely that a busy entertainer like Longoria was deeply involved in the day-to-day management of the restaurant.

So, your thesis really boils down to a poorly constructed attempt to impugn President Obama on the basis of his re-election campaign's appointment to an honorary position of an entertainer who invested in a restaurant that was mismanaged.
