Original post made on Apr 13, 2012

Any fireworks set off in San Ramon over the Fourth of July will be neither safe nor sane nor legal.

The City Council members of San Ramon need to be voted out of office immediately. Their decisions are not only bad for business in the City but bordering on un-American to their core.

I am glad to hear of limitions being ruled on for fireworks---I wish it was so here in Contra Costa district. I think it is imperative that strict rulings are voted in especially since houses and buildings are so close together that exercising such celebrations or any other noise-making situations should be limited. I found it nerve racking last 4th of July when I heard big boomers going off just in my neighbor's backyard. It was also frightening for my pets. I find that laws must be made to guide people in how to be considerate of others throughout the year. Isn't it enough to hear children screaming on top of their lungs while having "fun" while their sounds echo much further because of the close proximity of the houses? I am not against children but I do note how many are quite noisy and parents just seem to be able to tune them out perhaps by being "use to it" while quieter neighbors cringe and retreat back into their houses with windows and doors closed to try to escape from loud sounds that are anything but peaceful. The same goes for those neighbors who blast their music in their backyards or have constant loud parties. I am not kidding that I have a next door neighbor who had 3-4 parties a week with such loud music that my windows would vibrate. And my other neighbor two doors down has a son who has very deep bass speakers in his car that I can hear him while in my house when he just enters into our neighborhood a few blocks away. His bass speakers are just as bad to me as the boomers on the 4th. In short, while the noisemakers are out there having their fun, it doesn't occur to them how noisy they are since their neighbors are much quieter compared to them; or if they do realize, then they just don't care which is being inconsiderate.

Hey PE where have you been? ALL Fireworks are ILLEGAL in Contra Costa County. If you have neighbors being stupid, call the police!!!

Thanks Douglas for this info----I am fairly new here so that is where I have been. Also, I have been calling the police often because of my loud neighbors next door who party 3-4 times a week late into the evening during the warm weather days; it seems fruitless though the police agree that the music was unbelievably loud. I was even told by a policeman that other neighbors had filed a complaints about noise disturbances yet nothing was done. So I am still figuring out the solutions to these problems and have yet to learn much about the politics and people of this area. New people like me are confronting problems before newer problems arive such as the 4th. I am trying to address the more frequent disturbances/inconsiderations first. Again ,thanks for the info.
