Get away from it all - but not from the Danville Weekly

Original post made on May 2, 2008

Folks take vacations to get away from their everyday life - but don't forget to take along your hometown newspaper. Be sure to pack the Danville Weekly when you travel - whether to Tahoe or to Turkey - and snap a photo of yourself or friends or family reading the paper to share with us.

Dear Dolores,

I recall last Fall standing in front of Notre Dame in Paris and staging a wonderful picture for The Danville Weekly of your paper being read. We staged the picture based on your instructions and it is part of our PPT digital story of our wonderful trip.

I don't recall the picture being published or even acknowledged. Should I expect to see it in this week's issue?

Best wishes,

Indeed you should. You can see it online by clicking under the cover photo of this week's issue on "PDF Version: Section 1." This leads you to a PDF of the actual paper.

Sorry it takes so long. We have a backup since last summer of photos waiting to run.

And - we do acknowledge each photo we receive.

Dear Dolores,

Thank you for your response.

It will be Hal's next picture to stand reading The Danville Weekly in "another community" and feel quite at home. We can all imagine how many opportunities there are for such pictures because you have been so very successful in serving your readership with real regional news, information and interaction.

Such volume of pictures are your applause,

One HAL of a Pal
