Rail foes seek to bar further spending on project

Original post made on Sep 23, 2013

After scoring a victory in a Sacramento court last month, opponents of California's proposed high-speed rail system are now asking the judge to bar the agency responsible for the line from spending any money on the $68 billion project until a new business plan is in place.

I've got a remedy - Give the taxpayers back their money! We're being robbed! This is a HUGE VIOLATION of TRUST that we place into our state departments and government. Give the people back their $3.3 billion dollars. Cancel this $68 billion dollar project and stop spending our money on stupid stuff!

Americans don't want more public transit, but smooth roadways, faster travel, and a REFUND. This looks a lot like the bridge work we just suffered through and it will be at capacity in less than 15 years. Not to mention the shoddy workmanship we've already seen with the 35mph corner. This bridge has actually made traffic WORSE.

Now, we've been robbed and implementation of a railway seems like it will result in similar BART issues. These federal employees will shutdown our method of transportation when they decide they "deserve" higher pay.

Wake up, California! The government is bad! I want my money back!

Thank God for the plaintiffs and attorneys in this case. They are heroes representing the hard-working people of this state that are being robbed of their money so that the Governor and legislators can pay off their cronies: the unions and big companies that will get paid to build this boondoggle.

We need to do an initiative to get this project killed once and for all. Anyone with me?

Yeah! We've got ours, Jack! Screw future generations. Why should we boomers do like our parents and grandparents did, and build infrastructure that will mostly benefit our kids and grandkids? Everything will always be the way it was in 1960, and will never change, so why should we plan for future travel needs as if it might? No taxes, no planning, no building for anybody but me! me! me! me!

And lord knows, letting the riffraff travel through the snooty confines of the Peninsula is soooo infra dig.
