..and Roy Rogers was a cowboy.
hyenas are scavengers - the lion is the king of the jungle - and, oh, what a jungle
Actually I was never really a cowboy. But I did play one in the movies.
And lions are pack hunters with the lionesses doing most of the killing. While they do scavenge if the opportunity arises (and who among us doesn't?) they are considered to be apex and keystone predators.
Bottom line? Whether you agreed with his politics or not, a little respect is due to Sen. Kennedy who passed away after a lifetime of service.
Atta Boy, Roy, and thank you.
I met Edward Kennedy in 1959 at the Silverado Country Club in Napa as he campaigned for his brother, John, for nomination by Democrats for the Office of the President. Even at his young age, late twenties, he had a focus and crisp presentation that invited all the ages in the room to conversation and consideration. Napa, at that time, was a racist community with strong separation among Italians, Portuguese, Mexicans, and other groups, and all were blindly hateful toward blacks. Ted could engage the attendees on what we have in-common and not focus on blindness that separates us.
As we have seen throughout Ted's lifetime, he never lost that focus in his significant service to WE, the people. WE need not agree with all that he did, but we should applaud that focus on service to all of us.
Mary Jo Kopechne
Indeed a blight on his character as a young man. Ironically it kept him in the Senate (rather than becoming president), which resulted in his decades of service that resulted in legislation that truly made a difference in people's lives.
How sad to resurrect Mary Jo to undermine Kennedy's memory at this time. He struggled for many years in his private life but that did not prevent him from working effectively for a better United States for all of us.
He reached across party lines and both sides are now honoring him.
Please give us a hand while we flout federal law
