Measure J Great for Anyone Riding Public Transit

Original post made by Ralph Hoffmann, Walnut Creek, on Aug 20, 2010

In the East Bay, and even more in Contra Costa County, population density is increasing. New residential construction will be mostly infill, near transit hubs. That will make our future more directed toward Public Transportation. Public Transportation's not just for kids, or transit dependent seniors or disabled, but for commuting, shopping, attending meetings and entertainment events.
Use of Public Transportation is great for clean air, and one can read, call or text on a cell phone. If one completely dumps the pump, one can save on insurance, registration, and repairs as well as gas and oil.
Senator Mark DeSaulnier is on the Senate Transportation Committee. Congressman John Garamendi is on the House Transportation Committee.

Dear Dolores,

Neighborhood discussion groups provided reference to Ralph Hoffman's commentary with great appreciation for raising such an important topic for our corridor's consideration. Public transportation is poorly used, but convenient to getting around our corridor. The new buses on the corridor route are comfortable, affordable and easy to use.

Let's join Ralph, with thanks, in inviting commentary by corridor residents on how they would use public transportation.

Anyone?
