What are you doing for Superbowl?

Superbowl Sunday; if you are looking for fun or a place to go with friends where you don't have to cook, this is the place to be.The Viet Nam Veterans of the Diablo Valley is hosting their 7th annual crab feed fundraiser on February 6th . This is the group that started the East Bay Stand Down and relies on the revenue from this event as it is their annual fund raiser. I had the privilege last summer of volunteering and helping to cook hundred of breakfasts at o’ dark hundred for the homeless veterans.
Tickets are still available Sunday - February 6th annual crab feed fundraiser, which takes place at the Community Center – 420 Front Street in Danville - while their new facilities in the Veteran's Memorial Building is under construction. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the crab feed starts after 3p.m. All crab feed tickets include - all day snacks & appetizers & a no-host beverage service - Italian pasta and crab dinner with dessert.

The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite the public to the Installation Dinner of the 2011 Chairman of the Board, Kim Lindeberg and the 2011 Board of Directors and Awards Ceremony for the 2010 Educator of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Citizen of the Year and Charitable Organization of the Year. This fabulous event will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at The Historic Diablo Country Club. Sustainable Danville are partnering with San Ramon Valley High School to host the Sustainable High School Summit. We hope to unite student representatives from each of the high schools in Danville and San Ramon who are passionate about being environmental stewards on their campuses and in their community. We have been working with Science and Environmental education teachers at each of the schools to identify these students. If there is a student interested in participating they can contact me at We are also working with The Urban Farmers on their annual fruit tree sale. Proceeds help to donate fruit trees back to schools in four local school districts: San Ramon Valley Unified School District, Walnut Creek, Mt. Diablo and Accalanes.
