Original post made on Feb 6, 2012

The Danville Police Department provides Danville Express with a record of its calls each week. This is a sampling, omitting the more mundane, such as routine traffic stops, service requests, noise complaints and domestic disturbances.

Danville must have a 100% closure rate on these few burglaries and thefts. At least that's what I would assume from the amount of time they dedicate to speed enforcement.

Tom, I agree with you! I live in the area of Danville Blvd. and El Cerro. Speed and safety control is a real concern. Converting the traffic lites to "stop sign's" would control the speed and unsafe driving!! Wake up Danville; this is not a safe town!!

How can hit-and-run be a misdemeanor? Why so many? Is the offender caught or is this just a case of a report written at the scene?

According to Lt. Jeff Moule of the Danville PD:
In a hit and run (a traffic collision where the person at fault flees the scene), the driver of the vehicle has a responsibility to stop and give the other party identifying information.

"If you flee the scene and do not do so, it would be a misdemeanor. What makes it a felony is that the other party is injured or killed."

So, the difference between misdemeanor and felony hit and run is property damage versus bodily injury.

Anyone know who drives a grey Suburban, lives off Hartford and owns an airsoft shotgun? Whoever it is, they shot me yesterday on Glen Rd, leaving massive bruising on my arm and rib cage. I would be delighted if you could forward their info on to the Danville PD.
