Artists pass up old Danville Hotel Restaurant site

With sadness, the Alamo Danville Artists' Society has declined the offer to open its Pioneer Art Gallery in the former Danville Hotel Restaurant site after repair estimates came in too high. The search continues for a new home for the gallery.

The dilapidated Danville Hotel complex is really becoming an eyesore. With the news about the electrical problems it may also be a fire hazard. Perhaps the Town should consider condemnation of the structure.

I agree with Farmer Dave. I don't understand why the Town hasn't expedited the re-development or even insisted that it be maintained. As a resident, I think it's an eyesore, I can't imagine what visitors to the Town think.

Dear Stephen and all the Team members: Thanks for doing all that hard work to find out IF the old hotel is a workable solution for the ADAS Pioneer Gallery. Best wishes for finding another alternative !!

That building could easily be turned into a major attraction. Whoever owns it must not have the balls to do so.
