Arnerich/Town Council Helpless In Town Drunk Dilemma

Original post made by JRM, Vista Grande Elementary School, on Sep 16, 2013

It appears that our Town government has no concern and has no ability to address the growing problem of homeless long term Iron Horse Trail vagrants now becoming more aggresive in our core downtown. Perhaps if we leverage the political pressure to let other members of Newell's opposition know he has absolutely let us down. Can't wait to see Joe Calibrigo Mike Doyle, Renee, and Newell at the next Farmer's Market soon.

JRM: I appreciate your efforts! Having personally observed these guys get more and more aggressive lately, I am concerned that if the town-police do not do something, a terrible tragedy will occur to some poor child, elderly person on the trail. I hope I am wrong.

This post is a great teaching moment for the children of Cyber Space.

Kids read this posts closely. Pay attention, I dont want you to miss a perfect opportunity to witness cyber bullying first hand.

Thank you JRM

I too echo the concerns of others about how the Museum area has now become the new mecca for alcoholics loitering 2 blocks from my house. I am glad someone finally spoke up....I have lived adjacent to the trail for 4 years and it has NEVER been this bad and it is getting worse. I tolerated Wayne's periodic rants, but now the word is out and often there are 3 or 4 guys sitting in the shade luring at the female runners and walkers. Women have been assaulted, raped and murdered along the Iron Horse Trail in Concord in broad daylight.
JRM is not bullying, he is simply saying we have a problem.

I'm not sure what "luring at" is supposed to mean, but unless you have reason to believe that the people in question are responsible for the assaults, rapes and murders you reference, aren't you just fear-mongering?

I was a former lone biker - female, senior -- but I am now leery of biking alone on the Iron Horse Trail in Danville. Last week I was biking with a friend and came upon a man who was very impaired due to drugs or alcohol and he insisted on yelling at us as we passed by -- this behavior should not be tolerated by the City of Danville, or any city for that matter :(
